As an astrologer, I'm surprised how little I'm asked about wedding and astrology dates! Of course, I get a lot of questions about whether partners are compatible—and at that point, I'll opt to do a synastry reading for them. But never has a couple come to me to help them pick out the best wedding date. (Maybe you could be the first!?)
In any case, using astrology to help pick out wedding dates is honestly extraordinarily smart! To take your two birth charts and apply them to a certain day, we can almost guarantee a smooth-sailing wedding, without delays, interruptions, or distractions. Just love!
How to Pick a Wedding Date Using Astrology
Here are some major "dos" and "don'ts" when it comes to picking out important dates (for anything!).
Avoid retrogrades. This should be a given. Getting married during a potent retrograde period could not only draw in mishaps, but it could also set the tone for the relationship moving forward in a more negative light.
Mercury retrograde can cause mishaps (like people missing flights), delays (like overdrawn speeches), or disruptions (like too-loud music or background noise during the ceremony). And in the marriage, it could spell out some communication issues.
Getting married during Venus retrograde could bring on some doubts before the wedding or family or relationship drama. And no one wants that! Additionally, this could set the marriage up for having sort of a rocky partnership in the long run.
During a Mars retrograde, there could be some issues with anger or passive-aggressiveness in the bridal party. There might also be some issues with things being too loud or too aggressive (like noises, for example). And in the long-run, this could create some harboring anger or conflict-resolution issues among the couple.
A Saturn retrograde could indicate longevity issues in the marriage.
Focus on the benefic planets. The benefic planets are the moon, Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury. These are the planets that tend to expand, bring abundance, provide support and ease. Of course, they are the ones that we want present at a wedding!
Consider Saturn. Many people wouldn't expect Saturn to be on this list, considering its more somber attitude. But Saturn represents longevity. And thus, having a positive Saturn aspect in the background of your wedding date can provide sustainability, stability, and love for many decades to come.
Take individual birth charts into account. It's not just the astrology of the day you're picking! You're also picking the best day that works for not just your birth chart, but your partner's chart too.
